Welcome

On behalf of the Rathdrum Area Chamber of Commerce, we are pleased to welcome you to our website and our community. Rathdrum is “small town living at its best” and we invite you to explore the website and the community for all that we have to offer. There are many business, recreational and lifestyle opportunities to experience in the Rathdrum area.

Located in the central part of Kootenai County, we are a small community surrounded by an incredible natural beauty as diverse as the individuals that make it home. For over a century people have enjoyed the mountains, lakes and wildlife that thrive in Rathdrum, Idaho. There are biking and hiking trails, water recreational opportunities and fantastic fishing as well as two distinct 18-hole golf courses providing locals and visitors with a fun and relaxing experience.

Community celebrations include Rathdrum Days, normally the third weekend in July, where residents and friends come together and enjoy events such as street dancing, watermelon eating contests, wiener dog races and anything the committee might dream up. Fall Festival is the last weekend in September and offers samples of dutchoven cooking, a day of bluegrass music, storytelling, and a chance to find out more about the history of the area and learn how things were done back in the “old days.” Throughout the year there are other events for the community and friends such as Festival D’lights in December, community concerts in the old City Park, and a fishing derby for kids in Rathdrum Creek which runs through the park.

Rathdrum offers travelers many choices of restaurants and shopping. Lodging is available at two Bed & Breakfasts set in beautiful natural surroundings. We have outstanding schools and pursue a philosophy that knowing and supporting one’s neighbor, a hallmark of small-town life, is something we consciously practice and prefer. Look around, there’s much to discover..
